Mbalire Moses
Born in Uganda in 1988, Mbalire Moses Uganda attended primary school at The Bright Day & Boarding School from baby class to primary three and at Outspan Primary school from primary four to primary seven, where he sat his Primary Leaving Examination in 2001. He went to Lubiri High School and later joined St. Aloysius, where he completed his O-Level in 2005. In 2006-07, he joined Kawempe Royal College, where he completed his A-Level. He did not go on to a university because of the challenges that lay before him. Burdened with caring for his siblings, he decided to concentrate on their education, especially that of the girls.
As Vice Chairperson of Serve A Smile Foundation, Mbalire is responsible for supporting and guiding sponsored students for the duration of the academic year. He also acts as a liaison field officer, providing oversight of field instructors.
“I learnt early in life that once you educate a girl, you educate a nation. I grew up in an environment (Bwaise) where a lot of kids stood no chance to make it in life. I decided to join Serve A Smile Foundation because of the challenges I experienced, knowing very well that those challenges have more than doubled. Giving back to society is the only way to pay back the good that was given to me during my trying times.”
